Notes:
This was a fun cabled hat to make.  The pattern is available for free on Ravelry and is a great hat for those who either want to learn how to knit a project with cables or someone who has minimum experience with cables.
The only downside to this pattern is the sizing.  I have found that this particular hat would best fit an adult with a small head or even a child.  The depth of the hat before the decreases at the crown is too shallow.  However, this is a simple fix because one can add an extra repeat of the cable pattern to this hat before starting the decreases at the crown.  You will need more yardage/meterage to make this work, but if you use Plymouth's Aireado yarn like I did you will have more than enough to add this modification to the pattern.
The yarn that I used for this pattern is soft and airy.  The finished project is warm but not overly bulky, and the hat has a lovely drapey feel to it.  I would recommend this yarn for someone who is looking to make something that is lightweight, warm, and has a nice halo to the finished project.  This hat also looks lovely with a pompom added to the top.  Perfect for those cold winter days!
